The Children's Literary Parade: Show Off Your Love for Reading!

Writer's picture: Tracey DeanTracey Dean

Come one, come all to the inaugural Children's Literary Parade on Saturday, March 7, during the Monroeville Literary Festival! Hosted by the Monroe County Public Library, the parade is an opportunity for children ages 0-12 (and their guardians) to represent their favorite book character between Lyle Salter Park and the library. Parade line-up is at 8:30am in Lyle Salter Park, with the parade kicking off at 8:45am. Participants are welcome to walk, ride bicycles, be pulled in wagons or pushed in strollers, or drive battery operated children's vehicles. Costumes and decorations are welcome and encouraged. Library staff will have decorations on hand, and the Monroeville Police Department will provide assistance for everyone's safety.

All are welcome to line the parade route and cheer on our young readers!

For questions and more information, please contact Karen Tucker at the Monroe County Public Library at 743.3818.
